Food menu app

For our first UX Design challenge, we considered a food delivery app where you could preorder meals and track their delivery.

The goal was to incorporate a pre-ordering system on the app and live tracking delivery. As the first UX project, all bases were covered to ensure thorough research and usability studies took place. This included conducting interviews, reviewing and analysing data and implementing the knowledge gained into designing wireframes and prototypes.

understanding the user:

Once interviews were conducted, empathy maps were created to understand the users whose needs are being designed for.  A primary user group identified through research was working adults who don’t have time to cook meals.

Mark is one of the personas used when designing the app and the table showcases their user journey.

The design process began with paper wireframes which were transformed into digital wireframes on Figma once finalised.

Let the designs begin:

The low-fidelity prototypes became high-fidelity after user testing and a simple app was born.

Aside from a silly pun?

Adding colour to designs really does breathe some life into the work and inspires me to continue working. Little details really can have a major impact on designs and the experience a user has with your work.
